Richard Hart

Richard Hart

Richard Hart studied the violin from an early age, playing as a teenager in the Philharmonia of Bath orchestra and later qualifying as an Associate of the London College of Music.  In the meantime he took up the electric guitar and played in West Coast influenced band Lotus. While living in Holland in the ‘70’s Richard explored jazz fusion and improvisation, before returning to London and joining ‘80’s electro pop band Aerial FX (releases on Square, Island, Kamera and then signed to EMI).  In the early ‘90’s he set up a recording and production company with Radiohead’s managers.  After that, he formed London band Stencilfish who featured regularly at venues like Subterrania, the Orange Club and The Jazz Café.  Then family took priority for several years, and he now lives in Nottingham and writes at home.  Richard’s compositions cross a range of styles but his first love, classical music, is usually to be heard somewhere in the mix.
