Johnny Marter

Johnny began playing drums at the age of ten and his initial musical experiences included a spell within the local youth orchestra, which performed such works as Ravels Bolero,  Vaughan Williams Fantasia on a Theme and  Holsts “The Planets'.

Later, forays into the Pop and Rock world would find him success with Mr Big, Voyager, Alaska and MGM.

Now with the SAS All Star Band, for some eighteen years he continues to play regularly with a host of great artists of diverse genre's, from Roger Taylor And Brian May of Queen, Glenn Hughes, Jack Bruce, and Roger Daltry, to  Jon Anderson, Annie Lennox and Peter Gabriel,  to Aretha Franklin, Goria Gaynor,  and Corinne Baily Rae to name but a few,  (one of the past highlights being his two tours with the Bonzo Dog Doo Band).

As well as being an accomplished and diverse drummer, Johnny also plays guitar and other instruments, and  has embraced the art of studio technology and production. With these talents, he has now been able to to employ his abilities to write and record  his own compositions in his studio for the last few years.
